Overview
kulturbytes organises information into several connected types of data. Understanding these relationships makes it easier to enter and maintain your information.
Organization
An organization is the central element for managing your information. An organization can:
- own venues and spaces
- organise events
- have partnerships with other organizations
- be administered by users and have teams of users
- create portals to publish and present selected events
Venues and spaces
An organization can own one or more venues. A venue is a location where events take place, such as a cultural centre, museum or public space.
A venue can contain one or more spaces, such as a hall, stage or seminar room. Spaces can have their own information, including accessibility information.
Events
An organization can organise events. An event can take place at one of the organization’s venues and, where applicable, in a specific space within that venue.
The same venue and space can be used for many different events. This means that information such as the address, geographical position and accessibility information only needs to be maintained in one place.
Partnerships
Organizations can have partnerships with other organizations. Partnerships can be used to describe relationships such as cooperation, sponsorship or other forms of collaboration.
Users and teams
An organization is administered by users. Users can be assigned to teams, allowing responsibilities to be shared between several people.
This makes it possible for an organization to manage its information collaboratively without sharing a single user account.
Portals
An organization can create portals to present selected events and information for a particular audience, area or purpose.
A portal can provide a focused view of the information maintained in kulturbytes while the underlying organization, venue and event data remains centrally managed.
